The teens portion of the Massage for Infants, Toddlers, and Teens ( MITTS) program developed by Village Academy for Families, LLC, encompasses a wide age range of minors. It includes school-age children including pre-teens, tweens, teens, and even young adults. Having positive social interactions is important at this stage in developing healthy relationships and building self-esteem which are goals of the MITTS program.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to describe the benefits of massage for teens. You will also be able to describe how massage can help teens build confidence, develop compassion for others, and develop conflict resolution skills. You will be able to teach self-care techniques to teens and perform a massage routine for stress relief. Finally, you will have the tools needed to include massage for teens in your professional and/or everyday practice.

At the end of this lesson, there will be a short quiz to reinforce some of the important concepts of the MITTS program. You will need to score at least 70% on the quiz and final exam to receive your certificate of completion and your continuing education credits (CEs). The quiz and final exam are not mandatory if you do not want to receive a certificate and/or CEs.
